Getting Ready to Take a CLEP Exam
CLEP examinations test knowledge that you have acquired outside of a college classroom. You may have learned the material through:
- Independent studies
- Advanced high school or other courses
- On-the-job training
- Cultural pursuits
Most candidates study on their own for the exams. You should determine if a quick review of the material provides you with sufficient preparation, or if you need to develop a full study plan.
We recommend that you consult a textbook for the course at your college that is comparable to the exam you plan to take. You can also:

CLEP Official Study Guide 2009
